Privacy, in plain language

Your audio and transcript stay inside your browser. Transcript Pocket has no account system, cloud library, advertising, or analytics tracker.

What stays on your device

If you select “Keep this episode,” the audio file, parsed transcript phrases, listening position, and bookmarks are stored in this browser’s IndexedDB. Display preferences and a Pocket Plus license token are stored in localStorage. The app’s service worker caches the public app shell so it can open offline.

What leaves your device

Audio, transcript text, searches, bookmarks, and position exports are never sent to us. If you add a Pocket Plus license, the token is sent to the Sociobot billing API at most once per day to check whether it is valid. Opening the hosted checkout sends you to Sociobot/Dodo, the merchant of record, whose payment privacy terms apply there.

Your control

Use “Remove offline copy” in the player to delete the saved episode, or clear site data in your browser to remove all local information, including the license token and cached app shell. Exported position files remain wherever you saved them.
